FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- In the last few years, some passengers have started bringing LOTS more freight, which causes us to use more fuel. There also have been times when we could not safely fit all the freight and passengers onboard, and had to leave some freight in Rockland. We would have to pick it up on the next trip if we had room.
- For safety and Coast Guard reasons, I need to know the weight of the freight I have on board.
- These changes may also help pay for new expensive Coast Guard requirements and increased marina fees.
We would like to be able to allow all children to ride free or at a reduced fare. But, our Coast Guard license allows us to have a maximum of 16 passengers. The Coast Guard counts babies and children as full passengers. So, if we did offer free or reduced rates for all children, we would have to exclude older paying passengers. Economically, we can not afford to do this.
I do have a Facebook Page labeled Matinicus Excursions. Unfortunately, everytime I post anything on the page, it also goes to all my regular friends. I tried to switch the page to another account, but I have not been able to. If any of you are a Facebook expert and has an idea how to fix it, please contact me.
